I’ve had a blog with Today.com for a few months now. I chose my own subject and once the approved it, I began posting.
They pay you two different ways.
- Per blog post (only one post per day is eligible)
- Per page views
- A marketplace where there are calls for content. I just saw offers of $5 for 300 words. Doesn’t sound like much but when you can write 300 very effective words in just minutes, $5 is a nice rate.
The amount you get paid will vary. They seem to mostly base it on blog popularity. So if you work to build a solid readership and get traffic to your blog, you’ll get paid more.
I see advertisements all the time for blog jobs that only pay for traffic. I think it’s a nice touch that today.com will also pay per post. I started out at $5 per post but I just read that they lowered it to $1 per post. Even though that isn’t a lot, I have other food writing projects and tend to use this blog to cross promote which is valuable in and of itself.
I like having a few different niche blogs - some I run and maintain myself and some on blog networks. In the long run, it is a nice way to develop several income streams from blogging alone.

I would not do a blog post for $1 per post. Since it has to be about 300 words is your time worth that little?
