Great tips, Katherine! I keep telling myself: I may not be the best writer out there, but I have to give myself kudos for trying as hard as I can to succeed! ;-)

That’s really good advice. :) These tips have served me well over the years. Though, I haven’t really done much query letter writing lately because I’ve been taking a break.

These are all great tips and I’ve actually been using a couple of these mechanisms - My question is this: Is it worth it to purchase your own domain name, or is something like nickib.tumblr.com or triond.com/users/nicki+b acceptable?

This is a fantastic post, Katherine. I especially like your final tip: Don’t give up. :)

Yes Hope! It’s important. It’s so easy to just give up when things aren’t happening as you want. When we stick with it, it brings us closer to success despite the frustrations.

@Nicki B - I would definitely purchase my own domain. I didn’t used to think that it mattered. However, now that I have this blog hosted on its own domain, I wouldn’t go back to the free sites. It’s worth the extra money.

@April - thanks - I’m glad you like the post!
